Building on a unique history that sets New Orleans apart from any other city, Aidan Gill feels like walking into a barbershop museum. The space is located in the Garden District on Magazine Street, the most notable shopping district in the city. It features 150 years of historical artifacts from around the world and 6 chairs manned by highly skilled barbers. In describing the shop, Irish owner Aidan explains “We blend tradition with technology.” Opening the shop more than 26 years ago before the rise of the hipster beard trend, Aidan prides himself on using one blade per customer, and curated the space to appeal to the classic man.
Whether you want the closest, cleanest shave you’ve had in your life or choose to have your beard trimmed to perfection, expect to be in and out of the chair in less than 30 minutes. In 2015 alone, they estimate to have shaved 5000 customers. They’ve built their reputation on the classic barbershop experience with warm towels, a shot of Whiskey, and a cold Guinness poured directly from the tap.
