This 2-story barbershop on Broad Street is the closest you’ll get to an Atlanta-style barbershop in New Orleans. HeadQuarters is a freshly renovated space and features distressed wood floors with floor to ceiling mirrors. It’s the type of barbershop where you dap everyone off and joke about women and sports while listening to trap music.
In existence for 11 years, owner Jamal describes the barbershop philosophy, “It’s not just a hustle for our barbers, we offer a premium service.” This means they specialize in the flyest cuts, gaining inspiration from looks you’ve seen on basketball courts and music videos. Most of the barbers offer at least 10 years of experience, so expect to be in and out of the shop within 35 minutes, depending on the style. But please be advised, even with 10 barbers, the shop is almost always busy. Make an appointment to ensure you skip the wait time. Upstairs offers a hair salon, separating the men and the women into their own spaces.
