There’s still some summer travel left for the season, so it’s only right that we bless you with some can’t-miss tips on what to bring–and how to bring it–when it comes time to embark on that last trip of the summer. Take notes, gentlemen! Our best travel grooming essentials are coming in hot.
Must-Haves for Hair
Let’s start from the top and work our way down, yea? So, when it comes to your hair, keep your tools compact and concise. Any pomades, conditioners or waxes need to be transferred to smaller containers to avoid at static from the TSA. Your combs and brushes will also need to be downsized to save precious luggage space. Mini versions can be found on Amazon for a couple dollars.
A Travel-Sized Shave
Shaving, on the other hand, requires a little more finesse to include all the items you need most, without taking up too much space in your carry-on. Luckily, travel-friendly items like the Bevel Minis are available that will have you looking sharp while keeping your bags slim.
Now, some people will tell you to opt for a safety razor. And while it’s a safe bet and is known to take up considerably less space, a cordless trimmer is going to give you more control while requiring far less setup, breakdown and cleaning than a manual razor.
Don’t forget the kit…
If you don’t have one already, the Dopp kit will quickly become your best ally when traveling. Small, durable and available in a collection of different materials and styles, Dopp kits let you carry all the essential toiletries without having to check an extra bag.
Leather, canvas or nylon versions are going to be your best bets, as they can stand up to a lot of wear and tear, plus they’re easier to clean out in the event something leaks in between destinations.
… And everything else
Although we appreciate anyone who’ll devote a healthy amount of space to their hair, skin and shaving products when traveling, we hope that’s not all you plan on taking with you, right? Good. Everything from medications (for allergies and hangovers) to dental floss, Q-tips, and even a small sewing kit will help you to keep your wits (and appearance) about you. Now, go do that one final trip and show this summer’s travel season what’s really good.
