FACES OF ATLANTA: VOL. 4 - Darrell as Santa

“Tradition Looks Good On You”

Faces of Atlanta, Volume 4 celebrates the holiday season through the lens of three Atlanta families, each sharing what grooming, masculinity, and togetherness mean within their homes. Led by our Atlanta Santa, Darrell Striggles, this campaign reframes holiday storytelling with a figure who reflects the community he serves. Throughout December, we spotlight the warmth, pride, and intentionality Black men bring to preparing for the moments that matter most.

At the heart of this series is the idea that grooming is an act of love; both as a personal ritual and a way of showing up fully for the people you care about. With Atlanta’s rich cultural energy, Bevel stands at the epicenter as the brand that champions this care, this pride, and this season’s spirit. And with Tradition Looks Good On You as our guiding theme, the campaign honors the cherished moments of gathering in the living room, and celebrating with family, which define the holiday season for Black families across Atlanta.

These are the stories passed down, the rituals honored, and the moments that become memory.

The Green Family

Where Legacy Lives in the Chair

The Green family story begins in a small basement where necessity sparked a lifelong craft. When Eric Green Sr.’s mother could only afford two barbershop visits a year, he took it upon himself to learn how to cut his own hair and his brother’s. His brother bought him his first clippers, a simple gift that would shape the future of their entire family.

By the late 90s, Eric’s skill had caught the eye of the respected barbers in the neighborhood. They invited him into the shop and gave him the chance to grow. That moment marked the start of a career that has lasted nearly three decades and eventually led to the creation of “Good News Barbershop”, the family owned shop built on values Eric Sr learned early on. His journey is defined by work ethic, humility, and a deep love for the people he serves. Eric often says, “Opportunities only last for the life of the opportunity,” and he has lived by that belief every day behind the chair.

For the Greens, cutting hair is more than a trade. It is legacy. It is community. It is a standard passed down through generations. Their story reflects Bevel’s values at every turn: honoring the craft, showing up with intention, and carrying pride in every detail. From that first pair of clippers to a family built on consistency and faith, the Greens show what it looks like when purpose becomes tradition.

The Norman Family

A Blueprint for How a Man Moves

The Norman family story is rooted in legacy, a legacy shaped by the life and example of Karl Norman Sr. As a veteran of the Korean War, who lived with a level of leadership, discipline, and integrity that became the foundation of the entire family. When he recently passed, he left behind more than memories. He left behind a blueprint for how a Norman man moves through the world.

His son, Karl Norman II, carries those lessons with pride. He often says that the best parts of who he is were shaped directly by his father. Karl Sr. taught him how to lead with humility. He taught him the value of showing up for people. He taught him the worth of his word. And he even taught him the simple but powerful ritual of cutting his own hair, maintaining himself with intention and care.

Now Karl II passes those same qualities and skills to his own son, the next Karl Norman (III) in the line. They do everything side by side, cutting the grass, managing their real estate, handling life’s responsibilities and simply because that is how this legacy was built. Not through big speeches, but through daily actions. Through example. Through presence.

For the Norman family, legacy is carried in the way they work, the way they serve, and the way they groom themselves. It is a living tribute to Karl Norman Sr., whose leadership, integrity, and hands-on skill continue to shape the men who follow in his footsteps.

Wildy + Landry

Where Love Creates Legacy

For Wildy, Landry became the father figure he once feared he would never have. From a young age, Landry created a home where curiosity and self expression were welcomed. Their nights spent watching movies while Landry worked at Blockbuster helped shape Wildy’s imagination and eventually his path as a voice actor.

Landry also taught him how to care for himself with intention. He took Wildy to the barbershop, showed him the value of grooming, and encouraged him to express himself through his fashion and his hair. He taught him that taking care of yourself is an act of pride and self respect.

Most importantly, Landry reminded Wildy that he was his son. He told him he loved him often, so there was never a moment where Wildy questioned his place or his worth. Even after the separation from Wildy’s mom, Landry stayed present and steady. Their bond has never wavered, and the lessons he gave Wildy continue to shape the man he is today.

Darrell Striggles

Atlanta's Well-Groomed Santa

Darrell Striggles, who many in Atlanta know simply as Santa, grew up in Fort Lauderdale as the youngest of thirteen in a home grounded in honesty, love, and strong family values. With nine brothers and four sisters, he was raised around people with good hearts who taught him what it means to show up with character. After high school, Tallahassee shaped him even further, but Atlanta is where everything shifted. He moved to the city in 1997 after visiting during the Olympics, and he immediately felt something open for him. Atlanta embraced him, guided him, and helped him grow into the man he always hoped to become.

Some of Darrell’s earliest memories of confidence come from the barbershop. Sitting with his father and brothers, watching men get hot facials and razor shaves, he learned early that grooming speaks before you say a word. A well groomed man pays attention to detail, carries himself with intention, and moves through the world with quiet pride. Even as a kid, he could not wait to graduate from the booster seat and step into that feeling for himself.

Darrell lights up when he talks about what the role of Santa means to him. “There are very few things better than seeing the joy and hope in a child’s eyes when they see Santa,” he says. That joy is something he carries with him, and it shows in how he moves, how he shows up, and how he pours care and presence into the role.

Today, Darrell Striggles is Atlanta’s well groomed Santa. Everything he represents is rooted in family, community, and a lifelong belief in showing up with purpose, confidence, and heart.

Where Tradition Meets Pride

This holiday season, Bevel celebrates the men who understand that showing up matters. The fathers who pass down more than names. The barbers who build community one cut at a time. The sons who carry forward what they've been given. The chosen family that proves love makes legacy.

In Atlanta, tradition isn't just something you inherit. It's something you live, something you groom into being, something you wear with pride.

And it looks good on you.
