One of the Best Shave Starter Kits Available

"The Bevel Shave Starter Kit has everything to get you started with the Traditional Wet Shave. Let’s break it down. Bevel Pre-shav Oil - Thai oil is probably the slickest I’ve ever used. It does a great job in prepping the beard and allows for additional razor glide. While the slickness of the oil stays with you for the duration of the shave (multiple shave passes, that is), be careful. That same slickness will also stay on your hands. So make sure to wipe them off thoroughly before handling the razor. More on the razor in a moment. Shaving Cream - The shaving cream whips up a delightful lather. Rich and creamy with nice body. Not at all heavy, but not too light in weight, either. The lather is also quite stable and does not break down or become foamy during the shave. Like the pre-shave oil and after-shave balm, the shaving cream has a wonderful orange-citrus scent. It’s invigorating enough and does ot overpower. Shave Brush - The shave brush can do double-duty. It’s the perfect size for travel, but also at home in the shave den. On the lightweight side, it still manages to whip up great lathers due to its very soft, yet robust, shave knot. I found that the shave brush works best with a shallower lathering bowl. It’ll be a challenge to get a good handle on the shve brush if you use a lathering bowl that is a bit deeper than most. Otherwise, it was a terrific surprise in how well it performed and how quickly it whipped up lathers. Aftershave Balm - Again, a great orange citrus scent and some nice moisturizing properties. It really did a nice job in calming the skin. It also had a little kick to it, which I enjoyed. The Bevel Razor - This is the centerpiece of the kit and the main reason why you’ll love doing the traditional wet shave. The razor has wonderful heft and weight. Enough to allow the razor to do all the work during the shave. The handle has a nice, slender feel, but it’s not too thin. While the handle is smooth, three-quarters of the lower half of the it has a matte finish which gives the user a little bit of gripiness…. provided your hands are dry. As mentioned above, if your hands are coated wth Bevel pre-shave oil or Bevel lather, the handle is not going to give you enough of a grip. I love the razor and absolutely love the feel of it. . with dry hands. I wish the folks at Bevel would add a little bit of tight knurling or channels to the handle to improve the grippiness. I’ve used many smooth-handed razors before and with each, it’s key to wipe excess oil and slickness off your hands. The same is true with the Bevel razor. Overall, this is a wonderful starter kit for anyone wanting to begin learning the traditional wet shave method. Specifically designed for black men and other minorities who face some challenges when doing the traditional wet shave, this kit will also help anyone who has been trying to get a better shave with a DE razor. One more thing. A viewer named Nate Jackson sent the Bevel Shave Starter Kit to the channel for review. Nate sent me an article that appeared in the Star & Stripes covering news that the Army and Department of Defense were installing a new policy that all enlisted men be clean-shaven. In the past, there were some exemptions available, but it appears these may be going away. The army recognizes that black men sometimes have a more challenging time getting a good, irritation-free shave. I mentioned to Nate that the Bevel razor and all their products were created to address the shaving needs of black men and other minorities. Upon hearing this, Nate then very generously sent the Bevel Shave Starter Kit to the channel. Having said all this, I strongly encourage Bevel to approach the Department of Defense and Army and present to them their Bevel Shave Starter Kit and complete line of products.
